Staff Profile: Rose Harvey

What do you do at J-PAL? I am an Administrative Associate. I provide administrative and financial support to the office

What is the most interesting project you have worked on at J-PAL? I planned a large matchmaking and evidence dissemination event in Accra, Ghana with J-PAL Global and J-PAL Africa staff, which was an excellent opportunity to strengthen my relationship with other J-PAL offices, learn how to effectively coordinate and communicate with international partners, and advance my knowledge of J-PAL’s evidence outside the North America region.

What drew you to want to work at J-PAL? I was excited by J-PAL’s mission and how truly enthusiastic and hard-working all J-PAL staff are to help reduce poverty. I was also very motivated by J-PAL’s emphasis on not only spurring new research, but making sure that research was being used to concretely influence policy and decision-making that helps people living in poverty.

What is your favorite place in the world that you have been? Madrid

If you could buy one material thing, and money was not an issue, what would you buy? A lifetime supply of craft supplies

Author: J-PAL North America

J-PAL North America seeks to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. We do this through research, outreach, and training. We collaborate with decision-makers to generate clear, scientific evidence on which approaches work and why. We catalyze and support randomized evaluations, communicate evidence to help translate research into action, and build policymakers’ capacity to create and use evidence.
