What do you do at J-PAL? As a senior policy associate, I help to disseminate findings from randomized evaluations undertaken by J-PAL’s affiliated professors, make matches between policymakers, service providers, and academics to catalyze new evaluations, and assist in trainings to help decision-makers understand and use rigorous evidence.
What is the most interesting project you have worked on at J-PAL? I’ve found working on the State and Local Innovation Initiative to be most interesting project so far. It’s very exciting to be working with governments across the United States to identify their policy priorities and to think of ways to rigorously evaluate promising programs.
What drew you to want to work at J-PAL? As someone who is interested in public administration and economics, the idea of having more social policy informed by evidence was very appealing.
What is your favorite movie quote? “I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!” (Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood)
