What do you do at J-PAL? I am a Policy and Research Co-op. I support the State and Local Innovation Initiative and the US Health Care Delivery Initiative. In addition, I help translate J-PAL North America’s work to a broader audience through dissemination of
research resources and content on social media.
What drew you to want to work at J-PAL? A professor told me about the surprising results of a J-PAL study on malaria net pricing in Kenya that completely changed my worldview. After hearing him tell the story, I knew I had to seek out the chance to be more involved with J-PAL’s work. I am continually inspired by J-PAL’s use of data to find solutions, ability to learn from unexpected results, and its capacity to make other’s lives better through economics.
What is your favorite place in the world that you have been? The McDonald’s in Sedona, Arizona: the only place in the world with turquoise arches.
If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Clover’s Egg and Eggplant sandwich. It sounds like a weird combination, but it works.
If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be? Lin-Manuel Miranda.
